Better View is a series of perforated black out roller blinds designed by Elina Aalto and manufactured by iukbox. Light gently seeps in through the small cut out holes creating beautiful images of a city by night. The cut-outs represent the light in the windows of apartment buildings and office complexes in the city. The series includes city views of Paris, Tokyo, Helsinki, Berlin and Stockholm.

The idea for the blind was inspired by an art piece that Elina saw in the Oslo Art Museum. It was a large portrait made by perforating the canvas and it was hung on the wall like a regular painting. She thought that it was a pity that it was not hung so that light could come in through the holes.

Personally, I would absolutely love to have Tokyo city in my window sill!

  1. You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be
actually something which I think I would never understand.
It seems too complicated and extremely broad for me.
I am looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!
